This climate blog is based on science, reality, and common sense -- a summary of my readings about climate history and climate change since 1997.
.
I believe the current climate is normal, and better than it has been in at least 500 years (in the 1700s the average temperature was too cool for humans, and there was too little CO2 in the air for green plants)
.
I believe the change in the climate since 1800 is good news, mainly a natural harmless variation, with little or no effect from CO2.
.
I believe CO2 is a minor climate variable, even though leftists have falsely called it "pollution" (a satanic gas).
.
The climate has interested me since Al Gore morphed himself into a "climate scientist", which set off my internal BS detector.
.
The attack on fossil fuels is an attack on cheap sources of energy that have lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty -- the climate change "cult" is anti-economic growth.
.
That's why I am interested.
.
My first major article about climate change was in my economic newsletter in 2007. The second major article was in 2014 -- this new climate blog was launched soon after that article (an existing blog for newsletter subscribers, started in 2005, had to focus on economics and finance, not climate change)
.
I attempt to summarize and simplify writings by scientists that are too complicated for most non-scientists, or too long winded, and/or formatted in a way that makes them hard to read.
.
There are no footnotes here -- if the original article was well written, I'd provide a link and not summarize it here ... and any information pulled out of my memory could have come from anything I read since 1997 -- I couldn't provide footnotes if I wanted to !
.
Almost all the source materials used for this blog were free, so summarizing other people's free writings will not affect their income.
No ads here.
No money for me.
A public service.
No personal opinions, EXCEPT my analyses of climate change does not ignore the politics -- I believe 'the coming climate change catastrophe' is 99% leftist politics, and only 1% real science.
I have no desire to predict a coming climate catastrophe to get attention.
No wild guess computer game predictions of the future climate.
No extrapolation of short-term climate trends to predict the future climate.
No data fabrication or data mining to support climate predictions.
No fake surveys to claim a "consensus", and then trying to stifle debate by calling skeptics derogatory names, such as "deniers".
No science by consensus (or votes).
No desire to halt / slow economic growth, and end free market economics (with faster growth rates than socialism).
No desire to demonize carbon dioxide, which is plant food, not pollution.
A strong desire to demonize real pollution (such as in China and India), which people who call themselves "environmentalists" seem to ignore.
Perhaps most important: I present one or more links to Climate Centerfolds every month -- models demonstrating how to keep cool when the globe is warming = another reason to be happy about global warming. The links are at the URL below:
