When NASA (GISS) "adjusts' their average temperature data, the "adjustments" usually create more global warming.
NASA's historical average temperature data are frequently "adjusted" ... causing global warming to "increase".
NASA's "future" climate prediction NEVER changes.
Even after 40 years of making grossly inaccurate climate predictions, NASA consistently "sees" a coming climate catastrophe from runaway global warming !
Never mind the fact there's no evidence runaway global warming has EVER happened in the past 4.5 billion years of Earth's history !
NASA makes climate predictions.
NASA also compiles climate "actuals".
This is a HUGE conflict of interest !
NASA keeps "adjusting" their historical climate actuals, and the "adjustments" usually move the actuals closer to their scary predictions ... that have been wrong for 40 years so far.
In 1981, NASA (GISS) said the following about the average temperature of our planet:
“Northern latitudes warmed ~ +0.8 C. between the 1880s and 1940, then cooled ~ -0.5 C. between 1940 and 1970, in agreement with other analyses.”
In 1981, NASA / GISS said the Northern Hemisphere warmed +0.8 C. between the 1880s and 1940.
--- Now they say there was only +0.4 C. warming in those years.
That means 1940 was not as warm as originally claimed ... or was this "adjustment made for political reasons?
In 1981, NASA / GISS said the Northern Hemisphere cooled -0.5 C. between 1940 and 1970.
--- Now they say there was only -0.2 C. cooling in those years.
That means 1970 was warmer than originally claimed ... or was this "adjustment made for political reasons?
In 1981, NASA / GISS said that 1980 was almost -0.1 C. cooler than 1940.
--- Now they say 1980 was +0.2 C. warmer than 1940.
So now 1980 was warmer than 1940, reversing the original claim that 1980 was cooler than 1940 ... or was this "adjustment made for political reasons?
The claim of a coming climate change catastrophe is not science at all -- it is fictional scaremongering.
The scaremongering was started by scientists who wanted attention and government grants to study the climate.
The "coming catastrophe" was then recognized by leftist politicians as a "crisis" they could take advantage of.
Leftists have always wanted a stronger central government.
What better way to get what they have always wanted, than to claim a stronger government is needed to save the planet from global warming?
This is a fictional crisis, but if enough people believe in it, a fictional crisis is just as good as a real crisis for seizing more government control over the private sector.
The people promoting the global warming crisis fantasy are almost all 'leftists'.
The coming catastrophe they predict is used to scare people.
Scared people are easier to control.

The summaries by Schneider and Dickinson (1974) and Robock (1978) show that the mean annual temperature of the Northern Hemisphere increased about +1°C from 1880 to about 1940 and then cooled about -0.5°C by around 1960.
Subsequently, overall cooling has continued (as already referenced) such that the mean annual temperature of the Northern Hemisphere is now approaching values comparable to that in the 1880s.

Mitchell (1971) among others, claims that during the last century a systematic fluctuation of global climate is revealed by meteorological data.
He states that between 1880 and 1940 a net warming of about +0.6°C occurred, and from 1940 to the present our globe experienced a net cooling of -0.3°C.

In the period from 1880 to 1940, the mean temperature of the earth increased about +0.6°C. ... from 1940 to 1970, it decreased by -0.3 to -0.4°C.

Introduction:
In the last century it is possible to document an increase of about +0.6°C in the mean global temperature between 1880 and 1940 and a subsequent fall of temperature by about -0.3°C since 1940.
In the polar regions north of 70° latitude the decrease in temperature in the past decade alone has been about -1°C, several times larger than the global average decrease

Although changes of total atmospheric dust loading may possibly be sufficient to account for the observed -0.3° C. cooling of the earth since 1940, the human-derived contribution to these loading changes is inferred to have played a very minor role in the temperature decline.
