Worry about global cooling, not global warming, if you must worry

Better yet, just enjoy
the wonderful climate
-- the best climate ever
on our planet for
humans and animals
-- double or triple
the CO2 level and it will
be the best climate
for humans, animals
and green plants too,
with no negative
side effects,
except in the
overactive imaginations
of perpetually unhappy
leftists !

Natural warming peaked
65 million years ago.

The climate
has been cooling
since then.

Antarctic ice sheets
started growing
25 million years ago.

In the last
2.5 million years,
(aka "The Pleistocene")
we've had about
17 periodic glaciations,
where much of the land
was covered by
miles-thick ice sheets.

Each glaciation lasted
about 100,000 years,
separated by
short interglacials
lasting about 10,000 years.

We are nearing the end,
assuming cycles repeat,
of the present
warm interglacial,
called "The Holocene".

Timing is determined by
planetary geometry --
inclination and precession
of the Earth’s spin axis.

Geometry controls the amount
of sunshine (solar energy)
reaching higher latitudes.

Serbian astronomer Milankovitch
gave us the theory, and the math,
but the physics is less certain.

The most recent glaciation
ended only 12,000 years ago.

Ice had covered Canada,
the northern United States,
and much of Europe.

Melting, moving glaciers
dug big holes that left us
with the Great Lakes
that surround
my home state
of Michigan.

The total human population
at that time is estimated
at 100,000 Neanderthalers,

The present population
is 7.6 billion people.

Crops used for food today
would be negatively affected
by a new glaciation.

So there's something important
to worry about !

Especially if you can't ice skate !

The roughly estimated
minor global warming
of +1 degree C.
since 1880,
+/- 1 degree C.
is harmless warming,
even if it continues
for another 100 years.

The bellowing about
some imaginary
"climate change
catastrophe"
by smarmy,
loud leftists,
is not harmless
-- they give me
a headache!

But a mile of ice
on my property
in Michigan,
just as there was
20,000 years ago,
would be a big problem
... especially because
I don't know how
to ice skate !
