soon to be Congresswoman,
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,

recently made
interesting statements,
during a climate change
town hall organized by
the other famous socialist,
Senator Bernie Sanders.
Ocasio-Cortez
took on Tesla
for not returning
to taxpayers
what they have
invested in
the company.
"When we as a public choose
to invest in new technologies,
we deserve a return on that
investment", she said.
She didn't specify
what kind of return
on the Tesla loan
would have been
acceptable for
the taxpayers.
She didn't specify
whether taxpayers
deserved more than
full repayment
of the loan.
It's true that many
alternative energy
loan recipients
have gone bankrupt,
and never repaid
their Energy Dept.
loans.
Ocasio-Cortez
did not seem to realize
Tesla paid back its
Department of Energy
loan in 2013.
She might have
made sense
( which would be rare, for her )
if she had attacked
another company
-- one that didn't repay
the Energy Dept. !
