This is a real climate science blog.
Not a "Climate Change" blog.
Real science examines
past climate change,
and tries to explain
what causes climate change.
There are many unknowns !
The future climate is unknown.
Real science is non-fiction.
"Climate Change" is different.
"Climate Change" makes
wrong wild guess predictions
of the future climate,
while claiming to know
everything about the future climate !
while claiming to know
everything about the future climate !
"Climate Change" is fiction !
A typical real science
observation is that
95% of Canada was
covered with a
thick ice glacier
20,000 years ago.
The glacier melted,
most likely in
10,000 years.
Not from carbon dioxide.
There were also several
centuries with quite
a few unusually cold
periods, called the
Little Ice Age.
The coldest period,
was during the
Maunder Minimum,
with low solar activity,
in the late 1600s.
In the 300+ years since
then, there was warming,
of at least +2 degrees C.
That warming was
100% good news.
In fact, all global warming
in the past 20,000 years
has been 100% good news.
"Climate Change"
ignores the past climate.
The "Climate Change" cult
would have you believe
that Earth's climate
never changed for
thousands of years,
until the mild warming
after 1975 !
"Climate Change"
does not look at
anything real --
it consists of only
wrong wild guesses
of the future climate.
And the future
climate is always
predicted to be
100% bad news,
the opposite of past
climate change !
They try to scare people,
who only hear their
climate 'conclusions'.
Many people believe
the predictions because people
making the predictions are
government bureaucrats,
who leftists automatically
trust, and they often have
advanced science degrees.
The bureaucrats
sound very confident
in their predictions !
The people who believe
scary climate predictions
don't realize that scary
predictions of a coming
climate crisis, started in
the late 1950s, coming from
Al Gore's favorite scientist:
Roger Revelle.
That means we've been
hearing predictions of
a coming climate crisis
for over 60 years !
You'd think by now
the believers would start
questioning the quality
of the predictions they
believe ?
Waiting over 60 years
for a climate crisis
is a long time to wait !
What actually happened
in those 60+ years ?
Since humans started
adding lots of CO2 to the air,
after the Great Depression,
the average temperature
went down from 1940 to 1975,
then increased intermittently,
averaging +0.1 degrees C.
of global warming per decade.
( And maybe
that +0.1 trend
will continue in the
next 10 years
... although there
was actually
no global warming
from 2003 to the
end of 2018, per
weather satellites. )
That mild, harmless
global warming was
mainly happening
at higher latitudes,
during the coldest
six months
of the year,
and at night.
Beneficial global warming !
People living in Alaska
loved it !
Based on real science,
the CO2 level does not
control the climate.
The only known
simultaneous
positive correlation of
CO2 atmospheric levels,
and average temperature,
in the 4.5 billion years
of Earth's history,
was in the short period
from 1975 to 2003 --
only 28 years.
Based on real science,
lab experiments show,
CO2 may cause mild
global warming in the
troposphere, that later
warms Earth's surface.
There's no scientific proof
this has actually happened,
because natural climate
change can cause the
same amount of warming
( remember that
natural climate change
melted the glaciers
covering Canada! )
A worst case estimate
of the potential warming
effect of CO2 is easy
to calculate, and reveals
mild, harmless warming:
The global warming after 1975
can be assumed to be caused
ONLY by the rise of man made
CO2 emissions after 1975.
( Note: There's no proof
ANY of that warming was
caused by man made CO2) .
The rate of warming
after 1975,
if 100% attributed to CO2,
suggests that CO2 could,
at worst, cause only
+ 1 degree C. of warming
per a doubling
of the CO2 level
in the atmosphere.
A doubling of
atmospheric CO2
would take 200 years,
if CO2 levels continued
rising at +2ppm per year,
or 133 years, if CO2 levels
rose +3ppm per year.
The lab experiments
( infrared spectroscopy )
also suggest the
greenhouse gas effect
of CO2 in the atmosphere
would be mild.
would be mild.
There is no evidence CO2
could cause anything but
mild, harmless warming,
and actual global
warming since 1975
was mainly beneficial
warmer winter nights
at high latitudes
( colder areas ).
To make CO2 warming seem
scary, believers invented a
new theory of water vapor
positive feedback,
back in the 1970's,
that would
allegedly triple
the warming effect
of CO2 alone.
There's no proof that theory
is correct, and much evidence
it is a fairy tale -- the 30 years
of very wrong climate model
predictions are evidence:
The average computer
model predicted
The average computer
model predicted
triple the global warming
that actually happened !
But never mind decades
of wrong predictions --
the "Climate Change" cult
never changed their
1970's theory, and continues
using it in their ( wrong )
climate model predictions !
Based on real science,
adding CO2 to the air
is actually very beneficial
for our planet,
for the same reason that
greenhouse owners use
CO2 enrichment systems
to add more CO2 to the air
inside their greenhouses !
Calling "climate change"
an "existential threat"
is the mark of a real
climate science denier !
Past climate change
was 100% beneficial, and
future climate change
is not even a minor threat !
People who believe
"existential threat".
should be forced
to wear green T-shirts
that say:
"I'm a stupid
real climate
science denier" !
The leftists' hysteria
over climate change,
is why I write this
climate science blog,
as a public service.
I summarize real science
articles and studies
that I've been reading
as a hobby since 1997,
and once in a while
I insult power-hungry,
lying leftists too !
I despise being lied to
about an imaginary
coming climate crisis,
by devious leftists,
whose actual goal is to
micro-manage the world.
