Climate Change Anxiety

Coming climate change
catastrophe believers
are science deniers.

They completely ignore
the past 78 years of experience
with adding man made CO2
to the atmosphere.

It was the most prosperous
78 year period in human history.

The biggest climate change
could be described as
'warmer winter nights
in Alaska'.

Intermittent global warming
since 1940 added up to
a harmless rate of only
+0.77 degrees C. per century.

That's +0.077 degrees C. per decade.

But the 'coming climate change
catastrophe cult'  believers
completely ignore that reality
-- they prefer wild guess,
always wrong, computer game
predictions of a future
global warming rate that is
imagined to be QUADRUPLE
of what actually happened
in the 1940 through 2018 period.

Last Fall, yet another fictional
UN climate report claimed
the future will bring extreme
weather events, rising sea levels,
species extinction and reduced
capacity to produce food.

In reality:
(1)
Extreme weather events
have been in long term
declining trends,

(2)
Rrising sea levels have
been ongoing for 20,000 years,
with no acceleration in the past
century that could be blamed
on climate change
( using tide gauge data ),

(3)
Species extinction is just
a computer game fantasy,
where millions of new species
are imagined to exist in the future,
and then a percentage of them
are imagined to become extinct.

Species extinction claims
are pure computer game BS !

I've been hearing about
psychologists seeing patients
with anxiety for depression
related to climate change,
and the Earth’s future.

These patients want to do
something to reduce
global warming, but they are
overwhelmed and depressed,
by the scope of the problem.

This has been called
“climate distress,”
“climate grief,”
“climate anxiety” or
“eco-anxiety.”

The June 23, 2019 episode
of the HBO series
“Big Little Lies,”
had a main character’s
young daughter
having a panic attack
after hearing about
climate change in school.

A 2019 Gallup poll reported
54% of those ages 18 to 34,
38% of those 35 to 54 and
44% of those 55 or older
worry a “great deal”
about global warming.

I'm not sure how meaningful
that survey is -- I worry a lot
about climate change too --
but not the gradual warming
and greening of our planet
-- both are good news.

I worry about the
gross overreactions
to a non-existent
climate crisis that,
at the least,
makes electricity
a lot more expensive,
and less reliable,
and at the most,
destroys the US economy,
by following AOC's
Communist Manifesto-like
"Green Ordeal".

People say these climate anxiety
feelings are real, and affect their
life decisions.

Therapists recommend
sharing the concerns,
perhaps joining  ome
environmentalist group.

I guess my climate anxiety
"solution" is to summarize
climate articles and studies
I've been reading since 1997
as a hobby -- I share
my reading with others.

And as often as possible,
I remind readers that people
who predict a coming climate
change catastrophe are
mainly leftists seeking more
political power, by falsely
claiming they need more
political power "to save
the planet for the children"
( it's not true that the planet
needs saving, but that claim
is persuasive for gullible leftists ).

It's the modern way to sell
their beloved socialism
... while winter nights get
slightly warmer in Alaska !
