Fake Natural Disasters Chart

The coming
global warming
catastrophe
is the original
fake news.

CO2 warnings started
in the late 1950's,
and ramped up a lot
after the UN formed
the IPCC in 1988.

Over 60 years of
bad news predictions,
about CO2, but the
"coming climate
catastrophe"
never shows up.

We have lived our
entire lives with rising
CO2 levels ( since the
1930s, and accelerating
after 1950 ) and we would
not have noticed the slight
rise in temperature if not
for hysterical, bellowing
climate alarmists.

This year some alarmists
became hysterical about
fires in the Amazon.

They got excited
and posted wildfire
pictures online, but
often not from 2019,
and sometimes of fires
on other continents !

The “Number of Reported
Natural Disasters” graph
below is NOT the actual
number of natural disasters,
as people would assume !

That fake graph, shown in
many places online recently,
is below:

The above chart is deceptive
and should be ignored.

The image comes from a site
called "Our World In Data".

They claim to have
almost 3,000 free charts,
on almost 300 topics.

The data source is "EMDAT":
Centre for Research on the
Epidemiology of Disasters,
School of Public Health

EMDAT maintains databases
about Emergencies and
Disasters around the world.

The HUGE increase
from 1970 to 2000
represents an increase
in the REPORTING of
natural disasters, not
an increase in the actual
numbers of natural disasters.

There was incomplete reporting
of disasters until 20 years ago.

So pre-2000 data should NOT
be presented on the same chart
as post-2000 data.

Eliminate the pre-2000 data,
and the remaining trend
of reported natural disasters
is DOWN, not up !

Journalists use charts
without checking what
they really mean.

Fancy charts
do NOT mean
the data are correct,
even when presented
by a "respectable
organization".

Especially when
climate alarmism
is involved.
