Peter Ridd, a tenured
Australian professor,
was fired for speaking out
against efforts
to suppress his beliefs
about the condition
of the Great Barrier
Reef (GBR).
Ridd was highly qualified
to speak about the GBR.
After 35 years of work
on the Great Barrier Reef,
Ridd correctly believed
that the damage to the reef
from global warming
was greatly overstated
by the Australian
government, and he
publicly said so.
Ridd had been seeking
reinstatement, but later
decided on monetary
damages.
The Federal Circuit Court
of Australia considered
the case of Peter Ridd vs.
James Cook University.
Ridd won,
and was awarded
$1.2 million (AU dollars)
from the obviously fascist
university that "required"
professors to demonize
carbon dioxide, or get
fired !
