Margaret Thatcher Eventually Became a Climate Change Skeptic

I started using the internet
in 1996, as part of my job.

I had been working
in product development
at an auto manufacturer,
for 20 years, and wondered
if our products were really
causing a global warming crisis.

I got interested in climate science
in 1997, so I started reading articles
and studies that I found online.

Half were skeptical articles,
found in The Week That Was

Within one hour
of starting my research
I had strong doubts
about 100 year
climate predictions
( I had, and still have,
doubts about all predictions ).

I wondered why there was
no warming as CO2 levels
rose from 1940 to 1975.

I wondered why I had not
noticed any warming
in Michigan, since
I moved there in 1977.

So I was never
a coming climate
change crisis believer.

Some believers
in a coming
man-made
global warming
crisis, have claimed
worldwide alarm over
climate change was
started by the UK's
Margaret Thatcher.

Mrs Thatcher may have been
the first world leader
to voice alarm over
global warming, back in 1988.

She backed the formation
of the UN’s Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
in 1988.

And she promised the
UK Met (meteorological) Office
lavish funding for its
Hadley Centre, which opened
in 1990, as a world authority
on “human-induced
climate change”.

Hadley then linked up
with East Anglia’s Climatic
Research Unit (CRU)
to become custodians
 of one of the world’s
surface temperature records.

Ms. Thatcher had been
a climate science fool,
because she believed
the wrong scientists.

But the story does not end there

The climate alarmists
lie and mislead so often,
that assuming ANYTHING
they say is true, is a mistake !

In 2003, towards the end
of Thatcher's last book,
"Statecraft",
there was a passage headed
“Hot Air and Global Warming”.

Thatcher had completely
recanted her earlier
climate change views:

She:
-- Voiced fundamental doubts
about the global warming scare,

-- Scorned “doomsters”,

-- Questioned the scientific
assumptions driving the scare,

-- Doubted that CO2 was the
primary climate controller,

-- Believed sea level rise
claims were exaggerated,

- Mocked Al Gore,

- Said “costly and economically
damaging” schemes to reduce
CO2 emissions were futile,

-- Cited the +2.5C rise
tin emperatures during
the Medieval Warm Period
as having had
almost entirely
beneficial effects,

- Pointed out the dangers
of a world getting colder,
are far worse than those
of a CO2-enriched world
growing warmer, and

-- Recognized how
science fraud had
been used to mask
an anti-capitalist, left-wing
political agenda which posed
a serious threat to the progress
and prosperity of mankind.

The fact that
Ms. Thatcher
eventually became
a “climate skeptic”,
has been almost
entirely hidden
from the public.
