Consumers are getting
caught by environmental
activists’ latest war,
against natural gas !
Environmentalists
and leftist state
government officials,
across the United States,
are planning to prevent
consumers from using
natural gas to cook
their food, or heat
their homes !
Their "enemy"
is natural gas
home appliances,
like stoves,
and dryers.
Climate activists,
including the Basalt,
Colorado-based
Rocky Mountain Institute,
and Colorado State
University’s Center
for the new Energy
Economy, are working
to spread natural gas
bans around the country.
While activists fight
to make natural gas
appliances illegal,
consumers continue
to buy them.
Natural gas stoves,
furnaces, and other
appliances,are
consumer favorites.
The American
Gas Association
says natural gas
had 49% market share
for both cooktop ranges,
and water heaters
( 2017 data ).
Chefs and cooks prefer
natural gas burners
to electric stoves.
Gas provides quicker heat,
that can be more precisely
controlled.
A study of Pacific Northwest
homebuyers, found that 87%
ranked natural gas service
as important to them,
and they are willing to pay
a premium for natural gas,
over an all-electric home.
Energy Information
Administration (EIA)
statistics show that
residential natural gas use
contributed less than 4%
of overall greenhouse gas
emissions in 2016.
Meanwhile, the cost
to replace all
gas appliances with
electric equivalents,
would be very high
for many families
The Seattle City Council
considered a ban
on natural gas hookups
in new buildings, this fall.
In New York state,
utility Con Edison
is struggling to find
a way to connect
new homes in
