Natural gas now
dominates the U.S.
electric power system,
double second place
coal.
Gas will supply over 40%
of our power this summer
and is likely to reach 50%
in a few years.
The International Energy
Agency says our increased
use of natural gas is why
we're cutting CO2 emissions
faster than any other country.
A fracking ban, popular among
Democrats, would be a very
counterproductive energy
policy.
Fracking accounts for
80% of U.S. gas production,
and will be responsible for
almost all new gas supplies
in the future.
Democrat run
California, New York,
and the New England
states, use natural gas
as their primary
source of electricity.
But they have many
anti-production and
anti-pipeline policies.
Causing their electric power
prices to be 50% or more
above the national average.
And forcing them
to be addicted to
energy imported from
other states.
Massachusetts even had to
import natural gas by ship
from Russia, over the
past two winters.
California in some years
has imported 95% of its gas
and 33% of its electricity !
In addition to the natural
gas that has replaced
coal, fracking increased
U.S. crude oil production
160% to over 13 million
barrels per day since 2008.
