Cyberspace Climate Change Censorship -- The Majority Rules

Silicon Valley giants,
are trying to shut out
non-consensus
views of climate
science.

After over 50 years
of predictions of
a climate change
crisis, from higher
CO2 levels, it's
obvious we have
had no crisis.

In fact, the climate
has improved,
especially in the
northern half
of the Northern
Peninsula !

And there's sure
plenty of  room
for debate -- the
science is NOT
settled -- science
is NEVER settled !

In the U.S., for one
example, the first
five months of 2020
have had VERY FEW
warm days -- the
second fewest since
records were kept
in 1895
( warm days
= days reaching
over 70 degrees F. )

The favored views
of Google, Facebook
Twitter,  Instagram,
and YouTube are that
we are living in an
existential climate
change crisis.

And the only remedy
is allegedly a more
powerful government,
run by Democrats,
who will end our
heavy reliance
on cheap, reliable
energy sources,
and replace them
with expensive,
intermittent energy
sources, whether
you like it or not.

In an effort to curb the
the general leftist bias
in social media platforms,
President Trump signed
an executive order
preventing online
censorship.

He wanted to treat social
media as "publishers",
responsible for content,
 instead of "platforms,"
which are not.

"Platforms" are expected
to NOT stifle the free
exchange of views,
even when inconsistent
with those of their owners
and staff.

But that is NOT happening !

The question is whether
the First Amendment
applies to modern
communications
technology.

These platforms
function like a
21st century
public square.

"Twitter, Facebook,
Instagram, and YouTube
have unprecedented power
to censor, delete, or even
disappear information
-- to control what
people can see.

Online platforms “flag”
content as inappropriate,
even though it does not
violate any stated terms
of service.

Even deleting content
and accounts, with
no warning, no rationale,
and no recourse.

Apple no longer allows
its iPhone to access
an app called Inconvenient
Facts, which challenges
"perfesser" Al Gore’s views
on climate change.

Reddit moderators have
banned climate skeptics
from the “/r/science” feature,
which has millions of monthly
visitors.

Twitter bans tweets whose
content it omnisciently
determines is “inaccurate.“

YouTube, owned by Google,
carries videos on everything
--  almost 5 billion videos
are watched every day.

YouTube is adding
“fact checks” to videos
that dare to question
the coming climate
change crisis.

YouTube will tag some
climate change skeptic
videos with text from
Wikipedia stating
“multiple lines of scientific
evidence show that the
climate system is warming”
( not one skeptic
I've read, since 1997,
actually claims,
there was no warming )

The real issue is that
after 325+ years of
mild global warming,
which was harmless,
there is no logical
reason to claim that
continued warming
in the future will be
a "crisis".

That is the climate
alarmist claim, and
they have computer
games as proof.

The computer games
have grossly over-
predicted global
warming since the
1970s, but I guess
we are supposed
to believe that
the new computer
games aill be better.

We already know
new models are
predicting even more
global warming than
the old models ...
that already predicted
2x to 3x the actual
warming.

Climate change
depends on emotions
and appeals to authority
by government bureaucrat
"scientists" -- correct
climate predictions
do not matter, and
no one will ever discuss
the very wrong old
predictions.

That's how leftists
operate -- truth is not
a leftist value.

Based on locations
that have had
the most warming
since the 1970s,
and the time of year
with the most warming,
actual global warming
has been good news.

Warmer winter nights
in Alaska are good news.

Especially when higher
CO2 levels boost plant
growth all over the
world too -- just like
the CO2 enrichment used
inside greenhouses.

The Heartland Institute,
a conservative think tank,
and  PragerU, a nonprofit
online "university", have
faced censorship.

"Despite claiming to be
a public forum and a platform
open to all, YouTube is clearly
a left-wing organization,

This is just another mistake
in a long line of giant missteps
that erodes America’s trust
in Big Tech, much like what
has already happened
with the mainstream
news media" said
Craig Strazzeri,
PragerU’s chief
marketing officer.

Google controls 92%
of all online searches,
and considers views
other than its own
on climate, to be
“disinformation,”

it is able to keep alternative
views and evidence out of
educational and public
discussion.

Negative attacks
allowed on
climate skeptics
includes suggestions,
often fake news,
that the source
of their funding
is the energy
industry, which has
influenced their
work ... while
NEVER making
such an accusation
about the much
higher funding of
climate alarmists,
by self-interested
government agencies,
and renewable energy
companies.

Articles questioning
the dominance of human
causes of climate change
are ignored, or 'buried'
during searches, by
Google’s algorithms.

The information moguls
of Silicon Valley are doing
almost everything they
can do to support the
views all leftists have
on climate change:
'We are in a crisis,
and the science
is settled, so you
must do everything
you are told to do,
without questions'.

President Trump's
executive order
is an effort to level
the playing field.

I doubt if it will work.

Leftists do not
tolerate any
honest debate.

Any challenges
to their emotional,
usually evidence free,
beliefs, are "debated"
with ridicule, character
attacks and on-line
censorship.
