Joe Biden’s Green New Ordeal

Al Gore,
in "Earth in
the Balance"
       (1992)
stated that only:
“bold and unequivocal action”
     could save our
“dysfunctional society,”
          making
“the rescue of the
environment the central
organizing principle
for civilization.”

26 years later,
Joe Biden
is threatening
the U.S. economy
in a similar way.

The original
Green New Deal
from the Green Party
was adopted by Alexndria
Occasionally Coherent
in 2018.

It was primarily a new
Socialist Manifesto
for the U.S., with most
of the proposed spending
for socialist programs,
that had nothing to do
with 'green energy'.

The spending was up
to $93 trillion over
a number of decades
-- just one decade
was claimed for
implementation,
but that was never
close to being feasible.

Hopefully, readers
here ignore AOC.

She was in the running
for our 2019 Climate
Science Buffoon
of the year !

High school dropout
Greta Thunberg won
... while Marxist AOC
at least graduated
from college, and
gets a $174,000
per year salary
-- only in America --
both accomplishments
deserve some respect !

Joe Biden has his own
version of  the Green
New Deal.

I know he sometimes
sounds like he doesn't
know what he's talking
about, or where he is.

But he can read a
Teleprompter better
than Trump, and the
media are kind to him
... while they blame
Trump for every
problem in the past
four years.

And for some things
that never happened !

Joe Biden has committed
to go far beyond the activism
of President Obama and
2000 nominee Al Gore
on energy and climate policy.

On June 4, 2019, Biden released
a 22-page, 10,000-word
"Joe’s Plan for a Clean Energy
Revolution and Environmental
 Justice".

To summarize:
Biden believes the
Green New Deal is
a crucial framework
for meeting the climate
challenges we face.

Joe Biden is currently
embracing the framework
of the Green New Deal
in his bid for the White House,
calling on the United States
to eliminate climate-warming
emissions by no later than
the middle of the century.

Biden’s climate plan adopts
the rhetoric and many of
the actual policy proposals
of the Green New Deal
resolution put forward by
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
              (D-N.Y.) and
Sen. Edward J. Markey
              (D-Mass.),
which calls on the nation
to eliminate its carbon
footprint by 2030.

Biden put the U.S.
full-decarbonization date
at 2050, rather than 2030
as others have.

He recently appointed
Bernie Sanders’s two
climate advisors to his
own committee—
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
and John Kerry -- two of the
least bright public figures
on the subject of
climate science.

Biden has been
calling for
a carbon tax;
$1.7 trillion
in federal spending
over 10 years;
environmental justice
programs; and no
oil and gas drilling
on public lands.

Biden’s most aggressive
initiatives call for flexing
the United States’ trade
and foreign policy muscles
to compel other countries,
particularly China,
the world’s largest
carbon dioxide emitter,
to reduce emissions.

Combining climate change
policy with trade policy,
the plan calls for the
imposition of “carbon tariffs”
on goods imported from
heavily polluting economies,
a move that would directly
affect Chinese imports.

“Joe’s Plan” is all in
the service of climate
alarmism, through
a government-directed
energy transformation,
away from cheap, reliable
energy sources, to very
expensive, intermittent
solar and wind energy

 Consumers beware.

Taxpayers beware.
