Leftists
consider
themselves
to be scientific
and logical,
while claiming
conservatives
are religious,
meaning
'anti-science'.
As an atheist for
at least 60 years,
I agree that religion
is not science.
But the "science'
of leftists is mainly
junk science !
Their junk science
led to unexplainable
opposition to GMO
foods and vaccines.
For climate change,
there is some science
in a lab, using some
artificially dried air,
to prove CO2 is
a greenhouse gas.
In the atmosphere,
where water vapor
is the primary
greenhouse gas,
and it's percentage
varies, it is not
possible to know
exactly what
CO2 does.
It's an assumption
that CO2 causes
global warming.
The assumption
is reasonable,
but the amount of
warming is unklnown.
It's a fact,
supported by
1000's of studies,
and many decades
of greenhouse
experience,
that extra CO2 in
the atmosphere
boosts the
growth rate
of green plants
But it is only
a wild guess,
with no data,
that more CO2
in the air will cause
dangerous global
warming.
It is a ridiculous
assumption that
CO2 controls the
global average
temperature,
and natural causes
of climate change
are just "noise",
after 4.5 billion
years of huge
climate changes
from 100%
natural causes.
The false leftist
"religion" of data
includes:
(1)
Data mining.
( *cherry picking"
data points )
(2)
Biased selection
of data start dates
and end dates.
(3)
Arbitrary "adjustments"
to raw data -- too often
in the same direction.
(4)
Prediction errors,
in the same direction.
(5)
No admission of past
wrong predictions.
(6)
Ignoring contradictory
data, by not collecting
it, "adjusting" it, hiding it,
or destroying it.
Many people have been
indoctrinated with the
quasi-religious belief
that "data doesn't lie."
Reality is that
biased data
often mislead us
because that is
the intent.
What's actually
important often
isn't measured.
What is measured
can be packaged
to support a
favorite narrative.
A few data points
can be extrapolated
to "prove" a
favorite narrative.
A bit of data can be
conjured into a model
to male predictions
( that are always wrong ).
inconvenient data points
can be deleted via
"filtering out the outliers."
Semi-random data
can be claimed to be
"statistically significant."
In the false
religion of data,
heresy is asking
for data not
being collected,
because those
new data might
upset popular
narratives.
