Joe Biden’s Green Dreams

First Joe Biden was against fracking. He said that on video at least six times. Then we were told that meant new fracking, not shutting down existing oil wells, of course. Fracking wells don't tend to last long, so the industry might be almost gone in five more years without any new wells. Then Biden wet to Pennsylvania to campaign, where being for fracking would get him more votes. Suddenly Biden was for fracking. And Kamala changed her position too. Fracking creates good jobs, we were told. And that was not President Trump talkingalthough it could have been!

The US fracking industry, in total, has not earned a profit. It has been a money burner for most of the investors and banks involved. It has wasted a huge amount of capital, with no sign that it will ever be profitable. A few shale oil production companies are exceptions, of course. On the other hand, fracking derived oil production resulted in lower US gasoline prices. And partially decoupled our gasoline prices from other nations, particularly the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries cartel (OPEC).

Before Joe Biden is told to change what he has been saying about climate change, here is what he's said: A $2 trillion climate change proposal to entirely decarbonize America if he is elected president. And he could get that with Democrat majorities in both the House and Senate, if the Senate filibuster rule is ended by a Democrat majority... by a simple majority vote. The filibuster rule requires 60 Senate votes to pass legislation.

How will that proposed climate change proposal affect our lives?  And what will it cost?  Well, never mind that every single part of life depends on fossil fuels. From manufacturing wind turbines, solar panels, electric cars, bicycles ... to producing organic foods ... to heating your home ... and driving to work. Without fossil fuels, there's going to be a lot of walking.  There is no substitute for fossil fuels.

No matter what you believe about carbon dioxide, there is almost nothing 300 million Americans can do to meaningfully alter atmospheric greenhouse gas levels over the next century. While you’re changing the way you live, China, India, and other nations in Asia and Africa will be emitting more greenhouse gases than ever before to raise their standards of living. That means the Biden green agenda must have another goal. That goal is controlling you.

Don’t eat meat. You don’t need a car. Don't turn on air conditioning. Wash clothes in cold water. Dry your clothes outside on a clothesline. Are you ready to change the way you live?

The automobile has given people freedom to go anywhere, at anytime. The Biden climate agenda wants you out of your affordable and convenient gasoline powered car. Buy a more expensive, smaller, much less convenient electric car. The climate agenda calls for limiting car traffic in cities, less road-building and more roadless areas. American drivers should expect much higher gasoline prices due to higher federal taxes on gasoline -- European-style gas prices.

The Biden climate agenda would urge you, instead of driving, to live in a dense urban area and rely on public transportation. The Biden climate agenda has a big problem with suburbs, which forces people to own cars. They intend to enact policies that make living in the suburbs less desirable, and encourage, or force, people to move back into dense urban areas.

Thinking about going on a vacation that requires a cruise ship or a jet plane?  The only way for airlines and cruise ships to cut CO2 emissions is fewer people flying and cruising.Bbe prepared for large taxes that discourage cruises and flying.

During the 2019 CNN climate town hall, then-Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris talked about what kind of trash bag (not plastic) you should use in your kitchen !  ... With a president Biden, we can look forward (backward) to Democrats micro-managing our lives !
