The surface temperature record in the Arctic -- warming since the 1970s .... but cooling from the 1930s to 1970s

Satellite temperature data since 1979 show the Arctic has had more warming than any other area of our planet.

Arctic warming is a symptom of greenhouse gas warming.

But the lack of Antarctica warming, except for a few local areas on the edges of the ice, near underseas volcanoes, contradicts the expected greenhouse gas warming.

Climate science is NOT settled.

When I talk about the Arctic after 1979, based on satellite temperature data, I rarely mention the surface temperature measurements for the years before 1979.

The following chart is surface temperature measurements of the Arctic from 1920 to 2020.

Note that the warming after the 1970s, followed a cooling trend from the 1930s to 1970s.

The warm period in the 1930s has never been blamed on carbon dioxide.

The warm period since the 1970s is blamed entirely on carbon dioxide.

Maybe the truth is unknown?

The science is NOT settled to explain why our planet's climate is ALWAYS changing.
