Greenhouse gas theory from the late 1800s identified CO2 as a greenhouse gas.
A larger quantity of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere should reduce the ability of our planet to cool itself.
But there are many other variables that affect the climate, such as water vapor, clouds and sunlight variations.
Not to mention poor
temperature measurements before 1950, far too much data infilling
(temperature guessing), "data adjustments", and control of the data by leftist-biased
government bureaucrat "scientists", whose job security requires a climate
crisis.
Greenhouse gas science is solid and has at least 99% of scientists in agreement.
But the actual effect of CO2 could range from too small to measure, up to the only cause of global warming in the past 45 years.
Both extremes seem unlikely.
The IPCC places their wild guess near the middle of the range for 20th century warming.
Then they attach a meaningless 95% confidence level on their wild guess.
And that passes as climate science for leftists.
No one is willing to state the correct answer: "We
don't know".
The right answer may be "We don't know", but there is no evidence of rapid, dangerous warming -- predictions of such warming have been wrong since the late 1950s.
So that claim is a climate hoax.
The claim that CO2 does nothing is also jumping to a conclusion, but at least there is some evidence to support that guess.
And there is some evidence
to support the claim that CO2 causes mild, harmless global warming.
