Whatever is causing the large increase in page views in the past few days, let me warn you that I will never make any wild guess predictions of global warming doom, like the Climate Howlers do. The only climate prediction I ever made was in 1997, after my first hour studying climate science: "The climate will get warmer, unless it gets colder". (Nobel Prize pending)

For the past 50+ years we've heard always wrong predictions of a coming global warming crisis -- climate fantasies. But in fact, our current climate is the best climate for humans, animals, and especially plants, in the past 5,000 years. That is the result of a rise of the global average temperature since 1850 estimated at about +1 degree C., starting from a period that was cooler than most people prefer. That's just +1 degree warmer in 172 years. Warming that mainly affected the colder nations, mainly in the coldest months of the year, and mainly at night. Good news climate change! That's climate reality.
CLIMATE FANTASY: (publicized since the 1970s)
(1) Bureaucrats predict global warming crisis since the 1970s
(2) Computer models are programmed to predict a crisis too
(3) Large reductions of the use of fossil fuels are demanded
(4) Net Zero 2050 -- fantasy visions of a green utopia
(5) The social cost of carbon, and the cost of de-carbonization, are claimed to be numbers carefully calculated by economics experts.
CLIMATE REALITY:
(1a) After 50+ years of predictions of a coming global warming crisis, we actually have the best climate for humans, animals, and especially plants, since the Holocene Climate Optimum ended 5,000 years ago.
(2a) Computer games predicted exactly what they were programmed to predict, which did not match reality
(3a) From 2009 to 2020, the large percentage (over 80%) of global primary energy derived from fossil fuels declined by less than one percentage point
(4a) China, India, Russia, and every undeveloped nation in the world, could not care less about Nut Zero. Those nations will be responsible for a large majority of the increase in CO2 emissions in the future. Therefore, the probability of the atmospheric CO2 percentage declining is very small.
(5a) The social cost of carbon, and the cost of de-carbonization, are numbers pulled out of a hat, or from two feet below the back of the hat.
CONCLUSION:
Green Dreamers (aka "Climate Howlers") live in a climate change fantasyland, in perpetual fear of the future climate. This blog is about climate reality. I refute climate fantasies of doom.
