Davos 2020 -- Greta "thundering" Thunberg does it again

Thundering Greta Thunberg
spoke at Davos on Tuesday,
excoriating her audience
by insisting that:
"nothing has been done"
to combat climate change.

"We do not
want to reach
the tipping point
of irreversibility
on climate change,"
she said
last week,
adding:
"We do not want
the next generations
to inherit a world,
which becomes
ever more hostile
and ever less habitable
 — just think of the
wildfires in Australia."

Ye Editor's note:
"Bush fires"
in Australia
were much worse
in 1974 - 1975,
before the post-1975
global warming began.

President Trump,
a climate change skeptic,
has mocked Thunberg
- tweeting in 2019:
"Greta must work on
her Anger Management
problem, then go to
a good old fashioned
movie with a friend!
Chill Greta, Chill!"

The last time Trump
and Greta crossed paths,
the teenage activist
 - named TIME magazine's
2019 Person of the Year -
shot him a dirty look
before chastising
world leaders for
'stealing her
childhood'.

Greta told the BBC that she
"would have wasted [her] time"
talking to Trump, adding
"Honestly, I don't think
I would have said
anything because
obviously he's
not listening
to scientists
and experts,
so why would
he listen to me."

Some people pointed out
that Greta, a high school
dropout, leads a life
of privilege, and
no school.

Thunberg previously
drew sharp rebukes
from both
French President
Emmanuel Macron
          and
Russian President
Vladimir Putin
after her 2019 UN
"speech".

"Go and explain to
developing countries
why they should
continue living
in poverty and
not be like
Sweden,"
said Putin.

Macron slammed
Ms. Thunberg
after she filed
a legal complaint
accusing
five countries
of inaction on
global warming
in violation of the
30-year-old
UN Convention on
the Rights of a Child.

Germany, France, Brazil,
Argentina and Turkey.
( but NOT China and India ! )

This year Thunberg
delivered her trademark
public shaming to the
world's most rich and
powerful (non-Chinese)
leaders gathered
on the icy slopes
of the Swiss Alps.

"Our house is still on fire,"
the 17-year-old told
the World Economic Forum.

"Your inaction
is fueling
the flames
by the hour."

"Let’s be clear.

We don’t need
a ‘low carbon
economy.’

We don’t need to
lower emissions.

Our emissions
have to stop."

"I wonder,
what will you tell
your children
was the reason to fail
and leave them facing
the climate chaos
you knowingly
brought upon them?"

Thunberg and
a group of young
climate activists
have called on
private investors
and governments
to immediately
halt exploration
for fossil fuels,
to stop funding
their production,
to end taxpayer
subsidies for
the industry and
to fully divest
their existing stakes
in the sector.
- New York Times

Her fear mongering
appears to be working
--  young people
in the crowd
held up many
terrified-sounding
signs including:

"Fear for our glaciers"

"HELP the Koalas"

"One, two, three degrees!
It's a crime against humanity!"

"Let's Change The System,
Not the Climate"

"There Is No Planet B"

"I Have a Green Dream"

"We Want A Cooler Planet"

U.S. Treasury
Secretary
Steven Mnuchin
took a jab at
climate activist
Greta Thunberg
on Thursday, during
a news conference
with reporters at the
World Economic Forum
in Davos, Switzerland:

"Who is she?
The chief economist?"
Mnuchin told reporters:
"After she goes and studies
economics in college,
she can come back
and explain that to us."
