"Dare you to post it on Facebook" (2)

 Source:

"We’ve noticed that in recent years the alarmist rhetoric of activists and journalists has become so scary that past reports from the IPCC and other scientific sources sound positively “denialist” by comparison.

In honour of the new Facebook fact-check brigade now prowling your pages in search of climate heresy, we decided to introduce a new feature where we offer some rhetoric you can post on Facebook

in the hopes of getting banned as an anti-science knuckle-dragging denier, which you can then tell them is based nearly verbatim on past IPCC reports.

This week’s entry:

... Scientists know perfectly well the impacts of climate change will be small in the decades ahead.

The world will change more due to demographics, technology, economic growth, population growth, you name it.

... If they do come for you over it, you don’t have to look very far back in the IPCC library to find the source of this one:

"For most economic sectors, the impact of climate change will be small relative to the impacts of other drivers.

Changes in population, age, income, technology, relative prices, lifestyle, regulation, governance, and many other aspects of socioeconomic development will have an impact on the supply and demand of economic goods and services that is large relative to the impact of climate change." IPCC 5th Assessment Report (2013) Chapter 10.

We dare you to post it on Facebook … and dare them to ban it."
