‘Climate Emergency’ in Vancouver ?

I visted vancouver
a long time ago.

If they ever had a "climate
emergency", I imagine it
would be very cold weather.

But forgive me for having
common sense, thinking
that Vancouver would
welcome global warming.

The city councils
in North Vancouver and
West Vancouver
recently declared
a “climate emergency.”

Not happening now, of course.

But imagined to be happening
at some time in the future.

Some believers claim a climate
emergency is already in progress.

Vancouver temperature records
begin in 1896.

From 1918 to 2018,
the past 100 years.
February and September
average daytime highs
rose +1.5 degrees C.
(per century)

But the other 10 months
of the year had no
statistically significant
trend.

Since 1938, no month
of the year exhibits
a significant upward trend
in average daytime highs.

Four months cooled slightly.

A lot more measures
are available after the 1940s.

Since 1958, for one example.
there were four months that
warmed slightly, but the
annual average daytime high
had no significant trend.

REALLY  HOT  DAYS ?:
Since 1942, Vancouver
rarely had days with
average temperatures
over 30 degrees Celsius.

The decade with the most
was the 1960s, with seven.

In the 2000s there were six.

The present decade so far
has only had one day.

The most in a single year
was 2009 with four days
— 1960 and 1942
are tied for second
with three.

The record for the highest
humidex level
(reaching 38 degrees C)
is a tie between 2009,
1998 and 1961.

So far this decade
the average has not
trended up.

No heat emergency.

Total annual precipitation
records for Vancouver
begin in 1937.

The wettest year was 1997
— more than 20 years ago.

Second place is 1983,
even further back.

Looking at the
annual number
of very wet days,
 where more than
an inch of rain falls
in 24 hours, the record
was set in 1996
with 13 downpour days.

Tied for second place
(with 11 days) are 2017,
1984, 1983 and 1980.

No precipitation emergency.

The hourly mean wind speed
has been very steady
since the 1990s at between
12 and 14 km/h.

No windstorm emergency.

Metro Vancouver's
weather has been
about the same
for over 100 years.

Climate activists are convincing
city governments to make false
symbolic declarations of
dangerous climate change.

The coming climate change
crisis is imaginary,
not based on real science,
and it's (false) claims
are primarily based on
an Appeal to Authority,
and computer games
that make wrong
climate predictions.

The only "authority"
respected by leftists
is governments and
government bureaucrats.

Leftists politicians will say
whatever climate activists
persuade them to say.

Facts, climate data
and logic do not matter.

This is politics,
not real science !
