After 45 Years of "Global Warming", Chicago Had the Coldest Valentine's Day In Half a Century

Valentine's Day 2020
was the coldest
Valentine's Day
in nearly five decades.
for Chicago residents.

O'Hare International
Airport recorded
minus -2 degrees F.
on February 14, 2020,
according to the
National Weather
Service ( NWS ).

That was only
one degree F.
warmer than
minus
-3 degrees F.
recorded on
Valentine's Day
in 1943.

The coldest low
ever recorded on
Valentine's Day
was minus
-8 degrees F.
in 1905.

Minus -2 degrees F.
was the coldest day
in Chicago
so far this year.

Meanwhile,
much of
North America
has been having
a relatively mild
2019 - 2020
winter season.

Here in the Detroit,
Michigan suburbs,
this winter has been
unusually warm,
compared with
last winter,
which has been
unusually cold.

The U.S. is the
only country
in the world
that uses
a groundhog
to predict
the weather.

Punxsutawney Phil,
the ground hog,
did not
see his shadow
several weeks ago,
indicating that
an early spring
is coming ?
