Japan increasing their use of coal

Prior articles here
have discussed
the growing use
of coal in Asia,
mainly in
China and India.

Let's consider Japan now:

Japan has abandoned
nuclear energy, and
is building coal plants.

In 2011, a nuclear
power plant in northeast
Japan’s Fukushima
prefecture was damaged
by a huge tsunami, and
had multiple meltdowns.

The radioactive
contamination
will exist for
many decades.

The tsunami
that hit Japan
killed about
10,000 people.

The 50-year-old
nuclear plant
was damaged,
but to date
not one person
has died from
radiation
poisoning.

That includes the 50
brave volunteers
who went in to deal
with the damage,
and secure the plant.

One worker did die
from a heart attack.

Total electricity
consumption in Japan
did not change much,
so what source of energy
made up the difference ?

Fossil fuels ...
From 62% of Japan’s
electricity production
before the disaster,
to about 80% after !

Japan is on track
to add more than
20 coal power plants
in the next five years !

The Japanese
are ignoring
the political
pressures
haunting
most of the
western world,
justified using
junk science,
falsely claimed
as necessary to
“Save the Planet”.

Smart people !
