Website shows current mix of UK electric power generation -- very interesting

At the time 
the chart below 
was generated, 
natural gas 
and nuclear power 
accounted for 82% 
of UK electricity demand, 
plus 9% from burning wood 
(aka biomass, at double
 the price of burning coal).

IC France = France Interconnector

IC Ned = Netherlands Interconnector

IC Irl = Moyle Interconnector
               – link between 
                   South Ayrshire in Scotland and 
                     County Antrim in Northern Ireland. 

IC Ew = East West Interconnector
                  – link between
                      Rush North Beach, County Dublin, 
                        in Ireland, and Barkby Beach 
                         in North Wales.
