That's a large air
conditioned building,
surrounded by paved areas,
roads and a car parking lot.
On the day of the
alleged 130 F. heat record,
winds were coming from the south,
so the weather station would have
been artificially warmed by the
car parking lot to the south.
Google Earth shows current
weather station about 20 meters
west of the large array
of solar panels at the side
of the staff parking lot and
just 20meters north of what
looks like a massive heat
exchanger with a fan on top
(of at least 1meter diameter).
If the wind was from the south
the air from the heat exchanger
would have been blown directly
over the temperature recording
instruments.
Furnace Creek,
back when the record
134 degrees F.
was set in 1913,
is not surrounded
by buildings,
pavement and
a parking lot.
The current weather station
near the Furnace Creek Center
does NOT meet standards
for siting a weather station.
it should have been
in a shaded area,
not in direct sunlight
and maybe 50 feet from
any buildings, automobiles,
concrete, asphalt or other
heat sources.
Not even close.\
to proper siting.
Nevertheless,
climate alarmists
are trying to get the
old 1913 heat record
deleted.
Meanwhile, the recent
temperature of 130F
is only +1F. higher
than recorded in 1960,
and 129F had been
reached several times
since the Visitor Center
opened in 1959.
Apparently,
modern climate
scientists
consider old
heat records to be
"inconvenient",
and want to
delete them.
A high temperature
measured at one
weather station,
during one hour
of one day,
does not make
any difference
to the global
average
temperature.
A NASA report on
a ‘century of weather
at Death Valley’
regards that 1913
record temperature
as valid.
The World Meteorological
Organization reviewed
the weather station
evidence in 2012
and reconfirmed the
1913 record as valid.
The US mass media used the
130 degree temperature
recently as climate alarmism
propaganda, hiding the true
story, which I have presented
to you here.
