Environmentalism Highjacked by Climate Alarmists

Environmentalists
did pressure the
US government to require
cleaner air and water
in the1960s and 1970s.

In the late 1980s
climate alarmists
seemed to have
taken control of

the entire
environmentalist
movement and
fossil fuels became
their enerny.

As US manufacturing
was outsourced to China
since then, our air grew
cleaner while their air
got polluted/

I never hear the so-called
environmentalists complain
about the pollution in Chinese
and Indian cities.

Starting in the late 19350s
and ramping up a lot after
the late 1980s, "experts"
predicted a coming climate
change crisis.

30 years later, in 2018, the
climate alarmism ramped up
again to hysterical levels.

Enough to cause anxiety
and depression among
vulnerable children/

A large national UK survey
earlier this year found that
one in five British children
say they’ve had nightmares
about climate change/

Meanwhile, global
temperatures have been
rising for 20,000 years.

The current warming trend
began in the late 1600s.

The lying mass media
keeps claiming
climate change
has made natural
disasters worse.

None of the claims
are true.

Claims of crop failure
are common too, even
though people grow
enough food for
10 billion people,
and crop yields
have been in a
long term

rising trend.

Global sea levels
have been rising
for 20,000 years,
already up 120 meters
( 400 feet ).

There was no acceleration
of sea level rise in the
20th century, based on
long term tide gauge data,
that could be blamed
on global warming.

Climate alarmists reject
the safest form of energy,
nuclear power, which would
have been a logical
replacement for coal.

Natural gas is also
replacing coal.

Rarely mentioned:
It takes about 300 to 400
times more land on average
for a wind farm or solar farm
to generate the same electricity
as a nuclear power plant
or a natural gas plant.

Michael Shellenberger writes
in his book “Apocalypse Never”:
“If the United States were to
try to generate all of the energy
it uses with renewables,
25 percent to 50 percent
of all land in the United States
would be required.

By contrast, today’s energy
system requires just
0.5 percent of land
in the United States.”

Solar and wind power
are unreliable, so require
100% backup, and also need
long transmission lines,
and lots of mining for materials
needed for solar panels and
wind turbines.

Wind farms
are also insect,
bird, and bat
shredders.

Wind turbine blades
kill lots of insects,
a fresh food that
attracts small birds
and bats, who get
shredded too,
then become fresh food
for large birds, and they
get shredded too.

The large birds include
hawks, eagles, owls,
and condors.

Sweden generates 95%
of its electricity from sources
that don’t emit carbon dioxide.
mainly nuclear and hydroelectric
power,

Less hydroelectric energy
may be available in other
nations, but nuclear power
is a clean and safe option
everywhere.

Germany plans to spend
$580 billion by 2025
to make the switch
to renewables -- more
expensive and less
reliable electricity.

In Fukushima Japan,
radiation levels were so low,
there have been no known
deaths from radiation
exposure after that disaster.

Nuclear power produces
200 to 300 times less waste
than solar energy.

The used nuclear fuel rods
at the plant where they were
used.

Animal populations decline
in tropical climates because
of deforestation -- people
burn wood for fuel.

Many environmental groups
condemn farmed fishing,
even though that saves wild fish.

Environmentalists, taken over
by climate alarmists, give the
world consistently bad advice.
