No bad climate news to print, so insider.com makes up a scary climate story about Ethiopia

SUMMARY:
A “news” article at Insider.com falsely claimed Ethiopia has “food insecurity from climate change.”  They just made it up!  Truth is not a leftist value - that's why this blog exists. In reality, Ethiopia is having huge gains in crop yields, which supports a rapidly growing population. There is fast growth of BOTH the urban and rural Ethiopian populations.

For the coming climate change crisis, there is no reality. Just a wonderful climate today, accompanied by fake, scary coming climate crisis predictions. Climate alarmism has been in progress for 50 years! After my 23 years of reading climate science articles and studies as a hobby, I'm never surprised when a scary "climate" story is simply made up out of this air.

The overall coming climate crisis is similar -- just year after year of scary but confident climate predictions made by people with no ability to predict the climate in 100 years, or even in 10 years. But the predictions are always for bad news ... that never shows up. Meanwhile, the actual climate on our planet keeps getting more moderate, and better than it has been since the Little Ice Age centuries in the 1600s and 1700s.

Ethiopia’s urban areas added 13 million people since the year 2000, as the rural areas added 28 million!  Ethiopia’s economic growth averaged 9.9% from 2007/08 to 2017/18, compared to a regional average of 5.4%.

Construction and services accounted for most of the growth. Economic growth caused the population living below the Ethiopian national poverty line to decline from 30% in 2011, to 24% in 2016.

The growth of Ethiopia’s population is supported by huge increases in food production, not "food insecurity". But the truth does not promote climate alarmism, so the media invents fake stories.  And as usual with leftists, the future is always predicted to be bad news, unless everyone does as they say, without questions!

DETAILS:
An August 10 Insider.com article claimed that in Ethiopia, “food insecurity from climate change”  is “pushing millions of people into cities.”   The Insider.com article was  titled “Climate change is pushing millions of people into cities like Addis Ababa. Here’s what rapid urbanization looks like in the Ethiopian capital,”

The article claims World Health Organization predictions of a growing Ethiopian urban population proves that climate change is devastating rural crop production, driving people into cities.

In reality, fast growth of Ethiopian crop yields, as CO2 levels increase, and the planet modestly warms, attracted more people to farming in Ethiopia. And those rural farmers are growing more food per acre than ever. Crop yields per acre are now 80% higher than a decade ago, and double the 2000 level .

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reports half the Ethiopian population was undernourished in 2000, declining to less than 20% today.
