Thank you for 66,000 page views. I edit this free, no ads blog because I want to contribute some climate science facts to refute mainstream media climate alarmism. I'm guided by a Benjamin Franklin quote:
"If you would not be forgotten, as soon as you are dead, either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing (about) "
What you won't find here are wild guesses of a coming environmental crisis. I've heard those scary predictions in the mainstream media since the 1960s. Always wrong. My writing here is guided by my favorite philosopher, Lawrence "YogI" Berra, who once said: "I really didn't say everything I said." And I want to thank the mainstream media for making this blog necessary!
The mainstream media have provided over five decades of biased, anti-science environmental alarmism. They never mention the past 325 years of intermittent global warming, since the late 1600s, that have been pleasant and harmless. We are repeatedly told the global average temperature and the atmospheric CO2 concentration were 'perfect' in the "pre-industrial" times (around 1750).
And if you question that 'official' assertion, then you are a 'climate denier', or a 'science denier'. They never tell you the global average temperature and CO2 level in 1750 is very roughly estimated from air bubbles trapped in Antarctica ice cores. Not real time measurements. Bubbles in ice cores are far from a precise estimate.
So, the climate was "perfect" in the mid-1700s, in spite of the fact that people living at the time thought it was too cold? And then we are told any change from the mid-1700s climate, based only on a very rough estimate of the global average temperatures, in either direction, is bad news?
With no skepticism, the mass media repeatedly publish always wrong, but always confident, predictions of a coming climate crisis.
Debate is prevented with ridicule, character attacks, and online censorship. We've heard 50 years of scary, but wrong, predictions of a coming climate crisis ... that I suspect will be followed by another 50 years of scary predictions.
The climate crisis consists of nothing more than "expert" PREDICTIONS, made by people whose prior forecasts have been wrong for many decades. They have NO ability to predict the climate next year, much less in 100 years.
Meanwhile, our current climate is the best climate for humans, animals and plants, in hundreds of years, since the Little Ice Age centuries. Our planet is 'greening' from more CO2 in the atmosphere. Our climate is getting better decade after decade.
But for some people, actual climate changes since 1975, such as warmer winter nights in Alaska, are an existential climate threat. Beware -- people who try to scare you with wild speculation about the future climate, really want to scare you, and control you.
Smarmy leftists won't let us enjoy the slightly warmer climate in the past 45 years, accompanied by the 'greening' of our planet from more CO2 in the air (CO2 is plant food). Why are they so concerned about warmer winter nights in Alaska? Actually, they are not concerned about Alaska getting warmer.
LEFTISTS ARE MAINLY CONCERNED about getting more political power, so they can micromanage your life. That's why they love to lecture and scold us. That's what leftists love to do. When they are not busy character attacking everyone who disagrees with them.
That's why rich leftists fly around the world on private jets, spewing CO2 into the atmosphere, to attend climate change conferences, where they can publicly virtue signal for their fans.
Leftists are never happy with the world. Their mysterious belief, that this libertarian can't figure out, is that only very powerful governments, staffed by fellow leftists, can improve our lives!
Historical temperatures are frequently "adjusted", and "readjusted" to show more global warming ( to better "match" prior global warming predictions). NASA-GISS makes hundreds of revisions EVERY MONTH.
Much of the surface temperature "data" are contaminated with made up numbers, NEVER verified with measurements. That's called infilling -- I call it wild guessing. The guessing is done because there are few thermometers in remote places, and many weather stations are not reporting 100 percent of the monthly temperature data they are supposed to report each year.
Before World War II, almost all temperature measurements were made in the Northern Hemisphere. And ocean temperature measurements were made mainly in shipping channels, not everywhere, in Northern Hemisphere oceans.
Yet we are told by government bureaucrats that they have a global average temperature back to 1880, accurate to within +/- 0.1 degree C. . That claim is a lie.
There was no temperature measurement methodology with sufficient global coverage, with measurements made in a consistent environment, until the use of satellite data in 1979. Weather satellites measure in the troposphere, and that's exactly where the greenhouse gas effect occurs!
Surface temperature measurements and infilling (lots of made up numbers) are not accurate enough for real science. In addition, the global AVERAGE temperature, THAT NOT ONE PERSON LIVES IN, is not a measurement. It is a statistic that obscures the most important climate change details:
Since 1979, the most global warming has been in the northern (colder) half of the Northern Hemisphere, mainly during the coldest six months of the year, and mainly at night. Think of warmer winter nights in Alaska, and you'll KNOW the claim of an existential climate crisis is baloney, malarkey, banana earl (Brooklyn, USA), and, in more scientific terms, a tall steaming pile of farm animal digestive waste products. I do have a BS degree, so I know BS when I hear it.
