In the 1960s environmentalists told us DDT would end life on Earth as we knew it. They were wrong. They don't talk about DDT anymore. ... Then they told us a hole in the ozone layer would end life on Earth as we know it. They were wrong. They don't talk about the ozone layer anymore. ... Then they told us acid rain would end life on Earth as we know it. They were wrong. They don't talk about acid rain anymore.
In time they will stop talking about global warming.
The global warming "boogeyman" will be replaced by yet another new (false) environmental boogeyman 'that will end life on Earth as we know it.'
Based on their 50-year track record of 100% wrong predictions of various coming environmental catastrophes, I'm very confident the environmentalists will be wrong again.
Environmentalists are always trying to scare people with predictions of a coming catastrophe.
.
That strategy is used to get attention and government funding.

People who believe scary global warming predictions, which only come from a small subset of scientists called climate modelers, may not realize there have been fifty years of 100% wrong environmental catastrophe predictions.
Many people who believe in the global warming boogeyman have never bothered to learn anything about Earth's climate -- that's about to change:
Most important:
Earth is always warming or cooling.
Earth is always warming or cooling.
We know several ice ages have come and gone in the past 4.5 billion years for reasons scientists can't explain.
Climate modelers, who can't explain past climate changes, want people to believe they can predict future climate changes with great accuracy.
In fact, their predictions are nearly worthless -- we've already had four decades of grossly inaccurate climate model simulations (climate predictions).
Scientists who claim a global warming catastrophe is coming become eligible for government grants to study the climate -- that's a strong financial incentive to keep predicting a climate catastrophe year after year.
Government officials love a crisis -- every crisis is an opportunity to seize more power to "fight" that crisis.
A crisis can be real or imaginary -- it only matters that a lot of people believe in it.
The coming global warming crisis is an imaginary crisis extrapolated from a mild harmless trend: Mild warming since 1850.
Global warming and cooling are real.
It's the predictions of a coming global warming crisis that are a fantasy, especially when they are based only on computer games that have no predictive ability.
Global warming has become a "secular religion" for people who reject conventional religions, with the UN's IPCC Summary Report as the "bible", Al Gore as the "pope", and CO2 as the "devil".
Predictions of a coming global warming catastrophe do have a political purpose: Scaring people.
The goal is for scared people to demand and/or accept strong government controls over business and personal energy use, to "save the Earth".
Predictions of a coming global warming crisis are not based on science, because computer models are not science.
Climate Reality:
The average temperature of Earth today is almost the same as it was in the 1800s.

Climate Fantasy:
Computer models are programmed with the false assumption that manmade CO2 is the primary variable affecting Earth's climate. The computers are told CO2 will increase in the future, so they predict a global warming catastrophe in the future.

Manmade CO2 in the air has been increasing since 1940.
But there was no warming trend from 1940 to 1976.
And there has been no warming trend since 1998.
Although there was a small increase of Earth's average temperature from 1976 to 1998, that short-term correlation is not proof the rising CO2 caused the rising temperature.
NASA weather satellites show the warmest year so far was 1998 (they were launched in 1979), and most of the warming from 1979 to 1998 was in the northern half of the Northern Hemisphere, mainly during winter nights, which was good news for the few people who live there.
A recent NASA press release that claimed 2014 was two hundredths of a degree C. warmer than the prior record warm year in 2010, based only on surface temperature measurements -- NASA "forgot" to mention their own weather satellite data that says 1998 was the warmest year they have measured since they were launched in 1979.
NASA also "forgot" to mention all five average temperature compilations show no warming trend for at least 12 years (three compilations of surface measurements, and two compilations of satellite measurements).
NASA also "forgot" to mention all five average temperature compilations show no warming trend for at least 12 years (three compilations of surface measurements, and two compilations of satellite measurements).
As an inside joke among scientists, I suppose, NASA stated their 2014 surface temperature measurements had a margin of error of +/- one tenth of a degree C. (grossly overoptimistic, in my opinion) … and then presented their 2014 "record hot" average temperature of Earth in hundredths of a degree C. = very bad science !
NASA also "forgot" to mention their surface temperature averages start in 1880, about 30 years AFTER a mild warming trend started in 1850 (according to climate proxy studies).
Because all the NASA surface average temperature data have been compiled during a warming trend, new record high warm years are to be expected until that warming trend ends, and a cooling trend begins.
The 1850 "Modern Warming" could last hundreds of years more, or end tomorrow -- no one knows.
The warming that started in 1850 was not caused by rising CO2 in the air, and there's no reason to believe warming can only end if CO2 levels in the air decline.
Antarctica and Greenland ice core studies show Earth has had harmless mild warming / cooling cycles between ice ages over the past one million years -- hundreds of warming / cooling cycles that appear to average 500 to 1,500 years each.
For Americans:
If you still think Earth is getting warmer every year, wouldn't you want to know how warming has affected your state?
If you still think Earth is getting warmer every year, wouldn't you want to know how warming has affected your state?
The data show 47 of the 48 contiguous US states had their warmest years on record BEFORE the year 2000 (many in the hot 1930s)?
You're not supposed to know "inconvenient" facts like that.
Based on very rough measurements, the average temperature of Earth is claimed to be almost 1.5 degrees F. warmer today than in 1880 (+/- 1 degree F.).
A one or two degree F. change in 100 years is perfectly normal for our planet, whose climate has been changing for 4.5 billion years.
Our planet has been warming since the last ice age ended about 15,000 years ago, and sea level has already risen over 400 feet from the melting ice.
The warming that began 15,000 years ago was NOT started by power plants burning coal, and SUVs burning gasoline.
Earth's climate today is better than it was 100 years ago -- slightly warmer, cause unknown, and green plants are growing faster, caused by more CO2 in the air.
People who believe computer games can accurately predict the future climate are either gullible fools, or left-wing politicians seeking more power over the private sector.
Real science is based on data.
Computer models are not data -- they are just the opinions of some people who programmed the computers -- people bribed by governments with grants to predict a catastrophe, who use models that can not predict the future climate.
