Bureau of Meteorology climate fraud in Australia

The Australia
Bureau of Meteorology
(BOM) recently
announced heat has:
" ... broken the all time
maximum temperature
record"
(the hottest
temperature
ever recorded
in the Sydney
metropolitan area
-- 47.3 degrees C.
in Penrith.)

Penrith is 55.5 km
(34.5 miles)
west of Sydney.

BOM didn't mention
five minutes later
the temperature
dropped to 46.0 C.,
1.3 degree C. lower !

BOM didn't mention
the Penrith "record"
was probably for
just one second.

BOM didn't mention,
the Penrith station
only started recording
in 1995, yet
an “all-time” record
was claimed.

Many hours later
the BOM realized
it made a mistake,
but only AFTER
headlines spread
across the country.

The New South Wales
BOM apologized:
" Sorry, in our earlier checks
we missed a 47.8 degrees C
temperature recorded
at an old #Richmond station
(now closed) in 1939."

BOM also forgot
that in Windsor,
only 23 km north-east
of Penrith,
on January 13th, 1939,
it recorded 50.5C (122 F.)
with a liquid thermometer.

Modern electronic equipment
picks up meaningless
one second temperatures
which the BOM converts
into scary headlines.

Other countries average
electronic readings
over one to five minutes
so they are comparable
to the older records
from glass thermometers.

From 1859 until 1990,
mercury and alcohol
thermometers
could not produce
“one second records”.
