Canadian Protesters Try to Derail Train to Stop Pipeline Construction

Left-wing
environmentalist
protesters attempted
to derail, and then
set fire, to a train.

Members of
the Mohawk
First Nation
are using rail
blockades to stop
the construction
of a pipeline.

They were filmed
standing in front
of a train before
pelting it with rocks,
and then laying
thick tree branches
on the tracks.

Protesters
alsp burned
wooden pallets,
in an attempt
to set fire
to the train.

Firefighters
were needed
for an auto
engulfed
in flames,
that had been
placed on the
railway tracks.

Some Canadians
wanted the group
to be listed as a
domestic terror
organization.

“It is extremely
concerning
to see people
endangering
their own lives
and the lives
of others
by trying to
interfere with
the trains,”
said the
Prime Minister,
Justin Trudeau.

Quebec Premier
Francois Legault
claimed that some
demonstrators
have been seen
carrying AK-47s.

Some protesters
were arrested
at the blockades,
but it's unknown
what they were
changed with,
of if they were
charged with
any crime.
